This position is for a mid-career Electromechanical Engineer that collaborates well in a team environment, has excellent communication skills, and proactively takes initiative.
We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable mid-career engineer to join our tight-knit group. In this role you will support many of the Programs that LM Space supports, where partnership, integrity, and reliability are prioritized.
The Harness and Cable Design group is responsible for mechanical and electrical design tasks relating to wire harness, cable design, and interconnecting of electronic equipment, primarily supporting satellite spacecraft design and other LM Space missions.
Location & ScheduleLocation:
Littleton, CO (near Lockheed Martin Space facility). This position does not support teleworking and requires full-time onsite work on a flexible 9x80 schedule.
- Work closely alongside experienced engineers to help meet safety, schedule, and cost targets.
- Support the technical development and coordination of harness and cable assembly manufacturing drawings, harness parts lists, wire connection lists, engineering change support, and schematic capture of wiring diagrams.
- Investigate design factors such as part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, weight, and cost.
- Additional responsibilities may include documentation release, testing requirement definition, Interface Control Drawing (ICD) interpretation, detailed Component Performance Specification interpretation, conceptual designs, and trade studies.
- Strong collaboration skills; work effectively with systems engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering.
- 3+ years of professional experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline with a STEM focus and fundamental principles.
- Coursework or experience in mechanical and/or electrical design.
- Fluency in MCAD applications and modeling tools such as Creo Parametric.
- Product/system design experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team‑based environment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem‑solve.
- Electrical interconnect experience.
- Harness design experience.
- Product lifecycle ownership/management.
- Familiarity with space programs, flight specifications, and/or COTS electronic equipment.
This position requires a government security clearance; US citizenship is required. Clearance level:
Top Secret.
Annual base salary range: $89,300 – $157,550 (depending on location).
