Come join National Security Space and the Skynet EC team as a Specialty Engineer in Component Parts Engineering as we deliver the next generation of communications satellites to the our UK partners.
As a Component Engineer, Asc in the Parts, Materials and Processes (PMP) group of Specialty Systems Engineering working in National Security Space - Global Communications and Navigation (NSS-GC&N), you'll work on a team in a range of projects that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. You'll use your education and experience to drive selection of preferred PMP and maintain accurate PMP requirements in the engineering tools (PMPDB, EPDM, ERP).
Working side by side with PMP subject matter experts, Procurement, Receiving Inspection and PMP manufacturers you'll develop requirements to fulfill product schedule, cost and performance requirements.
In this role you will:
* Become an expert in the engineering design tools and be able to recommend and evaluate tool enhancements
* Perform data maintenance for Parts and Specification in the PMP Database and EPDM
* Drive Space preferred PMP selection, factoring in need and cost and ensuring the attainment of design objectives
* Support subject matter experts and PMP Database users with recommended solutions to data issues
* Work on projects to support engineering design tools

* A motivated individual who's able to work closely within a multidisciplinary and diverse team to resolve technical issues
* Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums

Basic Qualifications:
* Good understanding of mechanical parts performance requirements and specifications
* Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness/Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required
Desired
Skills:
* Experience with Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts performance requirements and specifications
* Experience with mechanical parts performance requirements and specifications
* Documentation Engineering experience: plans and analysis
* Advanced proficiency in software tools such as MS Office (Access, Excel, Project), SAP, is a plus
* Familiar with using business tools and systems for configuration management and quality control (e.g. SAP, EPDM, PMPDB, LIMS)
* Experience using EXCEL pivot tables for data reporting
* Knowledge of relational databases
* Degree in Engineering or Science field
* Active or Current Secret security clearance

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $60,200 - $106,030.
