Electromechanical Engineer III

Electro Mechanical Engineer III, responsible for product design, development, and production support for enterprise mechanical ground packaging and non-flight cable design. The position supports programs across the space enterprise, collaborating with electrical engineers to package and house electrical test equipment and working with senior cable designers to learn and apply modern cable design practices in a digitally transformed environment.

• Support programs across the space enterprise by contributing to mechanical ground packaging and non-flight cable design activities
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to package and house electrical test equipment, using CREO to create 3D models of hardware and associated mechanical structures
• Work with senior cable designers to learn and apply cable and wire harness design principles, including design of electrical/mechanical interconnects for test equipment
• Support product design, development, and production activities, including drawing creation, updates, and documentation in accordance with applicable standards and procedures
• Apply electromechanical design principles for test equipment, ensuring solutions meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements
• Communicate issues, risks, and resource needs to leadership, and participate in design reviews and cross functional technical discussions

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of professional experience in a relevant engineering role
• MCAD modeling and drafting experience
• Experience with GD&T
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; role supports a program that requires special access

• Exposure to DFx principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.)
• Exposure to CREO CAD modeling and Zuken E3
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with specifications and procedures applicable to electromechanical and cable design
• Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes (connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, testing)
• Knowledge of wire harness and cable design for electrical/mechanical interconnects used in test equipment
• Knowledge of electromechanical design principles for test equipment
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and with adjacent disciplines
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
