POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Circuit Design Engineer III to support the development of sophisticated, state-of-the-art avionics hardware within a world-class Integrated Product Development environment. This role focuses on designing and analyzing circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and avionics subsystems, including schematic capture, guidance of board layouts, and performance and test requirement definition. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design, electronics analysis, and the ability to support both board-level and system-level integration and test activities in a fast-paced aerospace and defense setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Design and capture electrical schematics for avionics circuits and guide associated printed circuit board (PCB) layouts to meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability goals Develop circuit, board, and electrical subsystem performance and test requirements for high-reliability flight electronics Perform electronics analyses such as Worst Case Analysis (WCA) and Electrical Parts Stress Analysis (EPSA) to ensure robust operation across mission environments Work on cross-functional teams to support the development and integration of world-class avionics systems, collaborating with systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering Resolve test anomalies and support troubleshooting efforts at the CCA and subsystem levels, recommending and implementing corrective actions as needed Generate, review, and present product certification data and related technical documentation in support of formal reviews and customer sell-off Support system-level integration and testing, ensuring avionics hardware meets interface, environmental, and performance requirements Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on design improvements, risk mitigation, and compliance with applicable standards and best practices
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design, troubleshooting, and/or circuit analysis 3+ years of professional experience in electronics or avionics hardware design and development Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility Ability to work onsite full-time at the Littleton, CO facility on a 9x80 schedule Additional Qualifications Experience in the development of high-reliability electronics for flight, space, or missile defense missions
Experience with electronic systems schematic creation and interpretation, and electronics modeling/simulation tools such as SPICE (e.g., PSPICE, Saber or similar) Experience in schematic capture using tools such as Zuken or similar ECAD platforms Experience performing electronics analyses including Worst Case Analysis, Electrical Parts Stress Analysis, and Failure Modes and Effects/Criticality Analysis (FMEA/FMECA) Demonstrated strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work through complex technical issues Adaptability to new situations and tools, with self-initiative in solving complex engineering problems Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative team environment and to communicate clearly with peers, management, and customers Existing DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred Security Clearance Requirement Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required Existing DoD Secret or higher clearance preferred U.S. Citizenship required for consideration The Global Edge Consultants, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
