About the Role

The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Subsystems and Core Sim Team is made up of enthusiastic and talented individuals that design and produce the hardware, algorithms, and software required to solve the challenging problems of controlling spacecraft systems in a harsh, zero-g environment. This position will report directly to the GN&C Manager within the GN&C Talent Center organization of Lockheed Martin Space.

As an GN&C analyst in this role, you will be tasked with supporting multiple satellite buses including, but not limited to, the LM400 and LM2100 satellite series.

What you will be doing
  • Design, analyze, and optimize GN&C subsystem dynamics and control systems using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Develop and verify high‑fidelity simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink and C++ environments.
  • Support system integration, test, and verification activities to ensure subsystem performance meets program requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the program life cycle, from requirements through verification and validation.
  • Contribute to mission operations and post‑launch performance assessments, as needed.

Successful applicants generally have at least 1+ years of related experience and may have a post‑secondary degree or training in a related discipline, such as Aerospace Engineering or other related field.

Basic Qualifications
  • Possess general domain experience in spacecraft controller design and optimization.
  • Experience in developing and verifying performance of simulation models in simulation environments using MATLAB/Simulink and C++.
Security Clearance / Work Authorization
  • To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Although not required to start, the selected applicant must be eligible to obtain, and maintain, Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (TS/SCI) for long‑term employment on this program.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with CORESIM.
  • Experience with flight software development and autocode to C++ and Python.
  • Attitude Determination and Kalman Filter experience.
  • Multi‑body dynamics experience.
  • Familiarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space applications.
  • Experience going through a spacecraft program life cycle encompassing requirements generation, design, analysis, integration, verification, and testing of the GN&C subsystem for space applications including mission operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated good communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
Security Clearance Statement

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: TS/SCI.

Pay Rate

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 82,900 – 146,165 in non‑major metropolitan areas and USD 95,300 – 165,255 in major metropolitan areas. Salary is a general guideline and may vary with location. The position is incentive plan eligible.

Work Schedule
  • Onsite full‑time: work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Schedule:

    9‑80 every other Friday off. Alternate work schedules available.
