Systems Engineer
In your role as an Associate Manager in the Structural Analysis Department, you will focus on meeting technical program requirements while ensuring products are delivered on time and within budget. You will lead both preliminary and detailed dynamic analyses of spacecraft and missile structures using advanced tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a team of dynamic analysts in modal and load analysis, environment assessment support, rigid and flex body separation, deployment analysis, mechanical survivability, and hardening analysis while supporting multiple programs.
- Provide mentorship, training, and career development for a team of 4-7 employees.
- Represent the organization in design reviews and engage with external contractors and customers.
- Support definition and execution of dynamic testing, including requirements development, progress tracking, data reduction, and comparison of test results with analytical models, accounting for thermal effects, material behavior, and overall system-level requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of structural dynamics gained through education, hands‑on practical experience, or a combination of both.
- Experience working with dynamic loads and environments, including exposure to testing methods, analytical approaches, and mechanical systems or joint behavior.
- Familiarity with modeling and simulation techniques, such as finite element methods and lumped‑parameter representations of rigid and flexible systems.
- Proven ability to lead or coordinate teams, with skills in organizing work, motivating others, and guiding engineering efforts.
- Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.
- Thrives in a collaborative, cross‑functional engineering environment with strong team integration.
- Demonstrates ownership mindset—drives tasks from initiation through rapid, efficient closure.
- Experienced in evaluating and validating designs using both rigid‑body and flexible‑body analysis techniques.
- Broad background analyzing mechanisms, antennas, electronic components, ground support equipment, hoisting systems, test support hardware, and composite structures.
- Proficient with industry‑standard tools such as NX/Nastran, Abaqus, ADAMS, LS‑DYNA, MATLAB, Mathcad, and CREO.
- Hands‑on experience with static, vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock testing of aerospace flight hardware.
- Applies creative and innovative problem‑solving to diagnose and resolve anomalous mechanical system performance.
- Committed to mentoring and developing junior analysts.
- Holds an active or current Top Secret security clearance.
This position requires a government security clearance. US citizenship is required. Clearance level:
Secret.
The position requires onsite work at a Lockheed Martin facility; remote work is not available.
CompensationAnnual base salary range: $104,500 - $184,115 (varies by state). This range is a general guideline and may be adjusted based on experience, education, and market considerations.
