TThe role is part of the In‑Space Systems business unit, focused on space infrastructure and orbital mobility. We are seeking an experienced Mission Launch Integration Engineer who will play a critical role in integrating complex spacecraft with launch systems and ensuring mission success. Passion for our mission and vision is required; relocation is provided and travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
Responsibilities- Lead the planning and execution of systems engineering efforts for spacecraft launch vehicle integration.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to define and manage system interfaces and requirements.
- Develop and execute integration plans, procedures, and schedules.
- Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support test planning, execution, and troubleshooting during launch campaigns.
- Analyze and verify system performance against mission objectives and requirements.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout the integration process.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace engineering with a focus on spacecraft and launch vehicle integration.
- Knowledge of space mission operations and satellite systems.
- Strong understanding of spacecraft systems, launch vehicle architecture, and system engineering principles.
- Demonstrated experience with spacecraft and launch vehicle systems and integration processes.
- Knowledge of current systems engineering test and integration tools and methodologies.
- Enjoys a highly dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
- Possesses skills in strategic system thinking, excellent written and oral communication, a proactive approach to moving programs forward through team collaboration, and the ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.
- M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex integration projects.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for spacecraft and launch systems.
- Experience with space mission assurance.
- Previous experience working on government or commercial spaceflight programs.
- Experience across the product life cycle (pre‑conceptual design through operational support).
- Experience with MBSE/System Modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, Magic Draw, or Rhapsody.
- Familiarity with System Architecture frameworks such as the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF), Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), or NASA Space Mission Architecture Framework (SMAF).
- Experience with verification of requirements and using Systems Engineering tools such as DOORs, ETM, Windchill, and Cameo.
