Description
This position is for a mid-career Electrical Engineer that collaborates well in a team environment, has excellent communication skills, and proactively takes initiative. In this role you will support many of the Programs that LM Space supports, where partnership, integrity, and reliability are prioritized. The Harness and Cable Design group is responsible for mechanical and electrical design tasks relating to wire harness, cable design, and interconnecting of electronic equipment.
The organization primarily supports satellite spacecraft design, however there is opportunity to support many of LM Space’s missions.
This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Littleton, CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.
What does this role look like?As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a flexible and dynamic environment while gaining direct product knowledge from experienced engineers. You will also have numerous opportunities to help represent the Harness and Cable team and pursue career development.
Key responsibilities- Work closely with experienced engineers to help meet safety, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Develop and coordinate harness and cable wire connection lists, provide engineering change support, and capture wiring diagrams.
- Investigate design factors such as part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, weight, and cost.
- Perform voltage drop analysis, documentation release, testing requirement definition, Interface Control Drawing (ICD) interpretation, detailed Component Performance Specification interpretation, conceptual designs, and trade studies.
- Strong collaboration skills with Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related STEM discipline.
- At least 3 years of professional experience.
- Electrical design experience with harnesses, cables, electronic boxes, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in ECAD applications and modeling tools such as Zuken E3.
- Product/system design experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
- Harness Electrical design experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team‑based environment.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Mechanical interconnect experience.
- Experience with voltage drop analysis.
- Product Lifecycle ownership/management.
- Familiarity with Space programs, flight specifications, and/or COTS electronic equipment.
This position requires a government security clearance and you must be a US citizen. Clearance level is Top Secret.

- Schedule is 9x80 with every other Friday off.
Annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 – $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
