ORION Systems Engineer: Test and Verification

We are seeking a System Engineer Staff level engineer to support the Orion Electrical Test and Verification Team in test, verification and validation of subsystem functionality and complete mission capabilities of the Orion Spacecraft.

• Ensure a portion of the Orion System is integrated, tested, and verified.
• Create verification/validation work products and test work products for the Orion Electrical Test and Verification team.
• Develop and implement approaches to accomplish Verification of System and Subsystem level requirements, including authoring verification reports using methods of analysis, inspection, and test.
• Manage all aspects of the test lifecycle for multiple procedures executed in the Orion Test Labs: procedure development, script development, test execution, troubleshooting, post-test analysis, and test report authorship.
• Support test shifts in the Orion Test Labs with occasional evening and weekend assignments (7:00 am‑4:00 pm and 3:30 pm‑midnight, 7 days per week).

• Bachelor's degree or greater in an engineering or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with system architecture development; system requirements and verification; subsystem requirements and verification; HW/SW integration, verification, and validation; system test; detailed design.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• Integrated Hardware and Software Verification and Test experience at a subsystem or system level.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, at both technical and non‑technical levels.
• Lockheed Martin Test Engineering experience.
• Lockheed Martin Certified Test Conductor experience.
• Knowledge of the Orion Vehicle and the Artemis Missions.
• Experience authoring test scripts; knowledge of Python and/or CCL languages a plus.
• Experience with Automation Framework, Linux, EPDM, and MS Office tools.
• Experience with human spaceflight a plus.
• Proven, effective analytical skills.
• Ability to multi‑task in a high‑pressure environment and handle complex assignments and re‑prioritization of tasks.
• Direct / indirect leadership experience.
• Quick learner with aptitude for various systems, processes, software tools.
• Works effectively independently and as part of a team.
