Executive Director - Oil, Gas & Chemical
The primary focus of the Executive Director – Oil, Gas & Chemicals (OGC), position is to conduct technical and commercial due diligence related to OGC assets and other energy infrastructure projects for the purpose of supporting project financing or acquisitions/divestures. In addition, the position requires the skills to provide owner's engineering/development support and technical advisory services to our clients. The person in this position will provide services that fall within each of the stages of a project's lifecycle, including development, pre-financing, financing, construction, performance testing, O&M review, divestiture, decommissioning and redevelopment.
The Executive Director may also participate in restructuring consulting for distressed assets. This is a senior level role, requiring subject matter expertise in OGC technologies and the design and construction thereof.
The Executive Director will:
- Review and opine on typical front end engineering design (FEED) documents, including PFDs, Heat and Material Balances, P&IDs, Equipment specifications, Plot Plans.
- Understand and experience with typical unit operations and equipment such as distillation, heat exchange, pumps, compressors, chemical reactors, separators, pipelines, NGL fractionation, cryogenic processes, instrumentation, storage of chemicals and hydrocarbons, etc.
- Review and opine on technical terms in commercial documents including but not limited to equipment supply agreements, EPC agreements, offtake agreements, construction management agreements
- Understand typical market terms and conditions related to technology risks, construction budgets and schedules as well as "bankable" terms and conditions
- Review project schedules and project capital costs and opine on their adequacy to ensure the project will be completed as planned and in accordance with the completion requirements of projects
- Review and remain familiar with the contingency requirements of the various types of projects
- Capable of reviewing and preparing estimates for construction costs, including change orders
- Provide construction monitoring services, including visiting construction sites and/or warehouses to form an opinion on construction schedule and budget progress as well as identify any issues and then providing certificates and monthly analysis/reporting on same
- Witness performance testing for OGC facilities. Review and comment on the test procedure prior to commencement of testing and then review test results post-testing.
- Understand typical environmental and regulatory requirements of OGC assets
- Review financial model to confirm reasonableness of construction costs associated with the technology employed and long-term capital expenditures
- Serve as a team lead, with potential for future team member direct reports
- Serve as Project Manager on projects in area of expertise
- Serve as individual contributor and subject matter expert to other Project Managers
- Serve as client interface, both for project work and business development
- Work with subconsultants, if necessary, to complete the team with a specialized skillset
- Actively contribute to business development and generate new business
- Participate in proposal preparation, approval and presentation
- Serve as reference and coach in area of expertise for the rest of team
- E3 is a small business. As such, all employees perform whatever tasks may be necessary to support the overall team objectives and strategy.
- While the primary requirement for this position is OGC and energy infrastructure expertise, the positions skills may be leveraged to support other technologies. Experience with renewable energy, infrastructure and general construction projects will be considered a plus.
- Travel is required to visit sites in various stages of a project's life cycle from pre-construction to construction to operating facilities to plant's preparing for decommissioning. Able to travel 10-25% of the time.

This position reports directly to the Managing Director of OGC. This position could grow to include direct reports. This position serves as a technology SME and will provide support to others on the E3 team as needed.
The initial compensation will range from $201,600 to $225,000
Education and Experience:
- Education - bachelor's degree in chemical engineering preferred, Petroleum, Mechanical or other degrees will be considered with OGC experience.
- Years of Experience - 12+ years of relevant OGC experience including EPC. Prior experience as a consultant is preferred.
- Licenses/Certification - Valid driver's license required
