Description
Test Engineering Lab Manager with oversight of staff, equipment, and facilities of the Denver Electromagnetics Lab. These labs include the EMI chambers and Near Field Scanner housed within SSB, Compact Test Range at ARL, Anechoic chambers at GPF and Gateway, as well as the Antenna Test Range. Test articles include spacecraft, spacecraft subsystems, missiles, and associated components. This position involves a mix of personnel oversight, ongoing equipment maintenance, repair and modernization, and mentoring of new staff on the test engineering process and equipment usage.
The Electromagnetics Lab consists of a staff of ~7 test engineers and technicians, and the position will require management of staff training and certifications as well as fostering employee development. The position will manage the workload of the group, set work priorities within the lab, identify a comprehensive range and equipment upgrade strategy, and at times contribute to the technical workload.
It will also require oversight and management of any capital improvements to the facilities or its equipment.
- Experience with leading engineers and/or technicians
- Exposure to Antenna measurement and EMI/EMC testing
- Experience with the preparation, management and execution of component level tests
- Experience in test planning and test procedure development
- Extensive knowledge of the Test Engineering processes
- History of successful test events
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
- Former or current Certified Test Conductor
- Formal leadership experience
- TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience with coordinating and running tests in conjunction with program personnel
- Familiarity with electronics hardware and equipment
- Exposure to the planning, execution and oversight of Capital equipment projects
- Strong communication/presentation skills
- Procurement experience
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
Benefits and PayPay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
