The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program is underway on a generational opportunity to develop and deploy the D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Missile which will sustain our Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) fleet for decades to come. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside our Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) partners to shape the future of our nation’s strategic deterrent as part of the nuclear triad.
Role OverviewThe Flight Systems Integration SI RSE is the primary integrator across missile, guidance, fire control and payloads to ensure technical coherence across interfaces and capabilities to enable proper systems integration across all the subsystems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership to the team to ensure consistent approaches to interface definition and compatibility throughout the life cycle.
- Provide technical leadership to the team to ensure test and analysis integration activities are fully enabled and planned.
- Direct and mentor a multidisciplinary team (structures, propulsion, guidance, avionics, payloads, etc.) to deliver an integrated flight system solution.
- Conduct trade studies and technology assessments for new materials and mission architecture concepts.
- Experience in missile, spacecraft, or satellite design, integration, test and/or operations or product development.
- Experience in technical integration.
- Experience providing technical guidance and support across multiple disciplines, and facilitating collaboration among stakeholders to drive project success.
- Experience integrating various subsystems and components to meet system requirements.
- Experience working with teams and stakeholders in development projects.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Previous missile experience.
- Missile System or Missile Subsystem integration experience.
- Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering.
- Strong technical initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, synergetic team environment.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance level:
Top Secret.
Annual base salary ranges from $128,400 to $226,435 in selected states. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, paid time off, holidays, and an incentive plan.
