• Acts as an electrical engineering resource to assist Maintenance Technicians troubleshoot machine control problems when additional resources, skills or knowledge are required to resolve the issue.
• Manages machine and equipment upgrade projects including investigations, cost estimates, installations and start‑up. This can include expense type projects as well as capital upgrade projects.
• Learns new capital equipment operation, controls structure/design and hardware to build knowledge and proficiency to support and implement effective maintenance.
• Assists Project Engineering with equipment installation, checkout, start‑up and training as necessary.
• Is aware of industry standards and strives to improve and implement safety. Examples are National and State Electrical codes and NFPA
  70E (arc flash) codes.
• Key resource for the completion of preventative maintenance on electrical substations and high voltage switch gear. This includes documentation of observations, testing and follow‑up actions.
• Participates as a team member on equipment project teams, safety teams and continuous improvement teams to continuously improve operations (including safety, quality, service and costs).

• Good project management, problem‑solving, troubleshooting skills.
• CAD skills are preferred.
• Knowledge of plant power distribution, control systems and PLCs.
• Ability to use measuring devices, read mechanical/electrical drawings, develop and use charts and schedules.
• Ability to be a self‑starter and take action on projects proactively.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to interact with plant personnel at all levels.
• General training or understanding of industry safety work practices.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
• 0 – 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment or similar field.
• Electrical Code training or other safety training seminars and courses.
