Job DescriptionJob Title: Test Systems/Manufacturing Test Engineer (summary)
Salary: $31.73 USD per hour - $35.09 USD per hour
Job Summary: Maintain, troubleshoot and repair test systems used in product acceptance for Manufacturing. Manage equipment calibrations (internal and through 3rd parties) and gage tracking. If calibration is up to date and production needs are not urgent, opportunities may exist to grow into Test Fixture Configuration Management, ECO implementation, fabrication of test systems, hardware design, and LabVIEW software development.
Responsibilities- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair test systems and provide technical support for Manufacturing from a Test Engineering perspective.
- Perform and document equipment calibration; enter calibration records in the gage tracking system and calibrate various instrumentation.
- Layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems.
- Draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
- Assemble experimental circuitry or complete prototype models according to engineering instructions and manuals.
- Set up test apparatus or devise test equipment to conduct functional, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototypes or production models.
- Complete documentation of test equipment, schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Collaborate as an individual contributor to meet project objectives with innovative engineering practice; design new tests and pursue improvements to current tests; explore new technologies to enhance test performance.
- Continuously improve skills through training, seminars, and coursework; participate in automated testing related to reliability investigations and product failures as applicable.
- Hands-on electronics troubleshooting to the component level preferred.
- Ability to read and use electronic schematics for troubleshooting.
- Experience in ISO 9001 certified environments; calibration experience preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools and a strong curiosity about relevant technologies.
- Knowledge of electronics, electrical components, and fabrication techniques.
- Experience using formal Product Development Processes.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and related software.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with testing equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, logic analyzers, function generators, etc.).
- Interest in continuing education in relevant technology areas.
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- A.S. Electronics or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of progressive related experience.
