We are seeking a Circuit Design Engineer IV (Avionics Circuit Design Engineer) to support the development of sophisticated, state-of-the-art avionics hardware within a world-class integrated product development environment. This senior-level role focuses on circuit card assembly (CCA) design and development, electrical analysis, and cross-functional integration of avionics systems for space and missile defense missions. The ideal candidate will have strong electronics design experience, demonstrated technical leadership as a responsible engineer, and proven ability to resolve complex hardware issues and support product certification and system-level testing, all under an active Secret clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Design and capture electrical schematics and guide associated board layouts for avionics CCAs.
- Perform electrical Worst Case Analysis (WCA) and Electrical Parts Stress Analysis (EPSA) for critical circuits and components.
- Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world-class avionics systems.
- Resolve test anomalies through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Support generation, review, and presentation of product certification documentation.
- Support system-level testing and integration activities, including environmental and ground testing as required.
- Provide technical leadership on electronics design tasks and coordinate with peers, management, subcontractors, and customers to communicate status, risks, and mitigation plans
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Experience in electronics design with a focus on circuit card assembly (CCA) design and development.
- Experience as a technical lead or responsible engineer on electronics hardware.
- Active Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
Additional Qualifications (Desired Skills)
- Experience leading teams through challenging engineering and/or programmatic issues.
- Experience on space and/or missile defense missions.
- Experience in electronic systems schematic creation and interpretation, and use of electronics modeling/simulation tools such as SPICE.
- Experience in schematic capture using Zuken or similar tools.
- Experience with PSPICE, Saber, or other electronics simulation tools.
- Experience performing electronics analysis including Worst Case Analysis, Electrical Parts Stress Analysis, and Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis (FMECA).
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors, and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment and to build consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Adaptable to new situations with demonstrated self-initiative in solving complex problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
