As a Loads & Dynamics Engineer supporting FBM D5LE2, you will play a critical role in ensuring spacecraft and flight hardware can withstand the extreme environments of launch and spaceflight.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

• Experience in structural dynamics, through education, research, or practical experience
• Practical and applied experience with vibration, modal, acoustic, and/or dynamic testing and analysis
• Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as NASTRAN, NX, or similar modeling software
• Experience with structural analysis principles, including simplified methods (e.g., hand calculations or lumped-parameter modeling)
• Exposure to engineering analysis supporting any stage of product development—from early concepts to detailed design
• Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance; US Citizenship required

• A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience working in the defense industry with practical hands on experience
• Experience with missile test programs and investigating anomalies
• Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
• Experience evaluating designs using rigid body or flexible body analysis methods and tools
• Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis
