GENERAL PURPOSE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scheduling, supervising, training, and developing processors and loan support specialists.
  • Directs, and evaluates employee performance for assigned staff within the department; participates in hiring new employees and recommends promotions/transfers and salary adjustments.
  • Provide ongoing accountability, coaching, feedback, and support to the Loan Support and Processor teams to ensure performance goals are achieved.
  • Oversee all Loan Support functions, including the handling of GAP/warranty claims and refunds, lien perfection, lien releases, and all related loan support duties.
  • Responsible for the processors’ handling of intermediary loan functions, including indirect auto loan funding, helping Financial Service Specialists achieve their member service level and loan volume expectations, along with working in partnership with Loan Support to handle all back-end loan functions.
  • Monitor the performance and status of the department and individual employees, with the ability to identify trends and make recommendations to the Director of Lending for improvement.
  • Quality control on mortgage and home equity loans.
  • Review and file title and deeds.
  • Oversees audit loan scanning, making sure Loan Processors and Loan Support Specialists are working together to appropriately obtain/correct necessary documentation.
  • Record and release documents, such as mortgage assignments, trust deeds, title, and contracts affecting condition of title and property.
  • Answers queries on releases, recordings, and insurance.
  • Manages workflows between loan officers, processing, and Loan Support with special attention to efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations, Director of Lending, and Branch Managers to improve workflows and maintain consistency.
  • Responsible for managing Processor and Loan Support goals.
  • Ensure Loan Support is resolving lien perfection issues in a timely manner and tracking outstanding imperfected liens.
  • Assist with Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with all credit union policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and Fair Lending requirements.
  • Support promotions and strategies to meet Credit Union’s goals.
  • Participate in Credit Union business development and community relations activities.
  • Adhere to all service standards as outlined in the Credit Union’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as needed or requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to tactfully question and actively listen to members and employees to determine specific needs and answer those needs.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, including BSA, OFAC, HMDA, Fair Lending, and other lending-related compliance requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
  • Demonstrates courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and a cooperative attitude in all interactions.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
EDUCATION, FORMAL TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
  • A two-year, associate’s degree, or equivalent education is required; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of loan servicing, loan support, title processing, or related financial institution experience is required.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory or management experience is required; equivalent experience may be considered.
