SummaryThe Student Enrollment Technician provides remote technical support of district technology and software via telephone and online chat, as well as onsite technical support for users coming directly to the Student Enrollment Center. This position also assists other district departments in support of Student Information Systems initiatives and provides periodic training to end users of district core software.
Responsibilities- Answer all calls and chats directed to the Support Desk, minimize voicemail, and maximize First Call Resolution (FCR).
- Enter, update, and resolve Infinite Campus student information system (SIS) service requests using service management software within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) time frames.
- Provide remote desktop support with remote control software or parent/staff login controls. Review service tickets for issues pertaining to SIS problems or functionality. Help troubleshoot issues with School Mint, the student registration and lottery system.
- Provide support for Parent Portal logins for the SIS. Troubleshoot advanced SIS issues. Escalate tickets that require vendor fixes or programmatic changes.
- Write, maintain, and update Knowledge Base documentation. Review SIS release notes to see any upcoming changes or enhancements. Collaborate and meet with designated teams regarding the planning and deployment of new technologies. Proactively explore and share SIS updates (i.e., applications and tools) with schools and the Student Enrollment Center team for consideration and district-wide use.
- Maintain professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the district and the community. Attend SIS training and conferences.
- Attend monthly school staff training sessions and provide instruction as needed. Help train district staff on optimal use of the SIS. Help maximize its use for cost effective district-wide application.
- Proactively work with and support Student Enrollment Center staff concerning enrollment tasks, reports, and data collections that utilize SIS data. Create efficient ad hoc reports for distribution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Associates degree
- OR
- Minimum of three years experience in troubleshooting and problem resolution in Infinite Campus software.
- Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
- Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.
- Competent in Windows, Macintosh and Chrome operating systems; required at entry.
- Computer and data troubleshooting; required at entry.
- Microsoft, Apple and Google software; required at entry.
Preferred:
- Be versed in technical concepts and procedures.
- Demonstrate a desire to support district staff and school communities in their use of technology
- Possess knowledge of computers on a variety of operating systems:
Windows, Macintosh, iOS, Chrome, and Android - Possess knowledge of data reporting, networking and data communications fundamentals.
- Be flexible in work procedures and processes from assignment to assignment.
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, with limited supervision.
