We are looking for the right person to help drive sales and collaborate with customers throughout the sales cycle.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, technically proficient, Head of Business Development to increase the adoption of Alpha Data’s products by working closely with customers to help solve their computational challenges and reduce their time to market using Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Modified-COTS solutions.

This role suits a technically strong sales professional who is motivated by ownership of revenue, disciplined execution, and translating complex customer needs into scalable product wins.

What You’ll Do
  • Be accountable for revenue across defined accounts and territory while maintaining a customer-first ethos.
  • Identify high-potential customers and drive design wins through a combination of technical understanding and disciplined sales execution.
  • Engage decision makers to understand customer business, program, and technical needs; translate these into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Conduct product demos, exhibit at trade shows, attend industry events, and foster a professional network.
  • Define and propose solutions using Alpha Data’s wide portfolio of COTS products or adapting them to propose Modified-COTS solutions. Balance customer needs, feasibility, engineering effort, and margin.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and technology trends, supporting new product definitions.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, opportunity qualification, and deal progression.
  • Foster long-term customer relationships post-delivery to drive expansion, follow-on programs, and lifecycle revenue.
What We’re Looking For Required Experience & Skills
  • Excellent communication, customer engagement, and proposal development skills
  • Prior experience in FPGA based processingor embedded computing systems, with a technical curiosity to continue learning about electronics and emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results
  • US citizenship required
    , due to export control regulations and customer requirements applicable to this role
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, including periodic multi-day customer visits, attendance at several industry trade shows per year and occasional international trips. Average travel is approximately 25%, but varies by quarter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in business administration, electronics, engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or systems engineering roles, ideally at a supplier of embedded FPGA based products
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
