Job Summary
The Security Operations Information System Security Manager (ISSM) is a key role on the SDA Transport Layer T1 contract. Based at the Waterton Campus, this on‑site position supports 24/7 security operations and involves collaborating directly with the customer to establish and maintain security operations within a Security Operations Center (SOC).
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the customer to design and implement security operations within the SOC.
- Evaluate and implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) cyber security controls for both ground and space assets.
- Lead the execution of the Continuous Monitoring Plan, maintaining and updating software and hardware assets.
- Perform system and network scanning, evaluations, and remediation activities.
- Champion system ATO processes, connections, and renewals.
- Train team members on cyber security implementation.
- Coordinate with Operations, Development, Deployment, and Systems Engineering teams in an Agile environment.
- Interface cross‑functionally with government personnel, customer partners, subcontractors, local engineers, and geographically dispersed teammates.
- DOD 8570 IAM Level II Certification
- Experience in Satellite & Ground Operations
- Experience with Authorization and Accreditation processes using Risk Management Framework methodologies
- Experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements, policies, and procedures
- Experience performing cybersecurity accreditation activities in support of software and system requirements, design, development, testing, and sustainment of approvals – Authority To Operate
- Experience with Net Brain, Zenoss, and Hewlett Packard Network Automation (HPNA)
- Familiarity with eMASS, HBSS, ACAS, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), and DISA STIGs
- Experience with Secure Configuration/Hardening of DoD Information Systems
- Experience with Intel‑Driven Threat Modeling, preferably classified Cyber Threat Intel Support
- Experience briefing complex cyber security principles to all levels of knowledge and skill
- Experience briefing high‑level customer stakeholders with cyber security concerns and remediation tactics
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53
- Experience with RHEL and Windows Server/Professional
- Experience with SIEM and cloud technologies including Log Rhythm, Splunk, Jira, and Confluence
- DOD 8570 IAT II Certification
- Ability to provide guidance on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements to engineering and software development staff
- Experience responding to cyber incidents from detection through remediation
- Intuitive and proactive self‑starter that’s accountable and mission focused

Pay RangeAnnual base salary range in California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC: $123,500 - $217,695. Salary for other states reflects the candidate’s final work location. This position is incentive plan eligible.
