Our Packaging Team performs all responsibilities in Canning, Bottling, Kegging, and re-packing of our beer. They assure that beer is packaged in bottles, cans, and kegs ready for distribution and sale. This is the first level in the Packaging Ladder, in a fast-paced production environment. This is a physically intensive role that requires exceptional motivation, a true passion for craft beer, and scheduling flexibility.
This position reports to the Assistant Operations Manager but will also take direction from the Packaging Supervisor and Packaging Shift Leads.
- Adhere to safety standards set by Breckenridge Brewery. Complete 100% of required safety trainings. Report safety concerns.
- Adhere to quality standards as communicated during new hire training, as well as future trainings. Reports Quality concerns.
- Understand all packaging types of our beer.
- Operation of packaging equipment according to Machine Operations Matrix. Assist in 20 machine changeovers per year.
- Complete audits: understand and execute all audits for each machine. Set up the machine and make sure the right product is utilized, as well as end of run counts. During the run: each 30 min audits
- Assisting in troubleshooting of equipment. Make Tech II, Tech III, Shift Lead, supervisor, or manager aware of issues in a timely manner. Expected to report when noticing issues, concerns, or machine challenges.
- Cleaning of the general facilities and operation area. Ensure the area is properly cleaned and paperwork associated with the cleaning is completed. Daily and weekly cleaning performed as required.
- Complete end of run counts of materials used, fill out batch tracking information. Notate materials left on partial pallets.
- Understand chemicals used throughout the production facility as well as PPE required around them.
- Read and understand SOP's.
- Alerts the Shift Leader or other Management to potential quality or safety concerns.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Prior experience in a Packaging environment preferred
- Ability to carry/lift 50-165lbs and work safely in a loud and/or hot work environment
- Must be able to crouch, bend, lift, stoop and reach
- Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours or more
- Must be able to work in hot, wet and loud environment
- Must be able to work around steam, electricity, harsh chemicals, and solvents
- Must be flexible to work day, afternoon, and midnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Mechanical background preferred
- High School Diploma required
