Position: Press Assistant II: Friday - Sunday 4:00pm - 4:30am

Press Assistant II – Friday to Sunday, 4:00 pm to 4:30 am at CPI Card Group, Littleton, CO.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of all completed work in the shop floor data system or on manual forms
  • Comply with ISO 9001:2000 certification for all areas of responsibility
  • Ensure completed product is staged with appropriate identification information attached
  • Keep materials, supplies, product carts and other department supplies stocked and notify the Printing Manager of inventory needs
  • Meet productivity, quality, service, spoilage, security and safety goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow all company procedures, rules and mandated security procedures
  • Conduct oneself in a respectful, professional manner with a focus on teamwork, quality and timeliness
  • Read and understand job tickets to guarantee correct product and quality standards are met
  • Select correct substrates for specific jobs and make decisions regarding quality and color control
  • Provide routine customer demonstrations
  • Complete quality checks and tests to ensure products meet all physical and visual requirements
  • Monitor production throughout runs, adjust to reduce waste and increase productivity
  • Troubleshoot equipment, perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Operate material handling equipment to move loads in and out of work areas
  • Analyze and correct drying/curing problems
  • Recommend optimal strategies for efficient use of materials, equipment and scheduling
  • Communicate job‑specific information to internal customers
  • Assist in developing the department’s standard operating procedures
  • Track and inventory all consumables
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow all safety procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required
  • Digital press experience is a plus
Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a high‑volume production environment as a machine or press operator
  • Solid detail and decision‑making skills to check product quality and make adjustments for customer deadlines and requirements
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to select and use appropriate equipment, supplies and tools
  • Mathematical skills for computing percentages, weights and measures
  • Ability to follow and interpret complex written and oral English instructions and specifications
  • Elementary English proficiency and communication skills
  • Security and safety oriented
  • Reliable with good attendance, punctuality and cooperation
  • Willingly work flexible hours and overtime with short notice
  • Works well under deadline pressure
  • Team player in a fast‑paced environment
  • Familiar with PDF and PostScript; experience with imposition is helpful
  • Ability to read, write and interpret instructions, identify problems and missing information
  • Good verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Ready to use hand tools and do manual adjustments
  • Knowledge of printing processes, substrates, color theory, color management, color spaces and ICC profiles is helpful
  • Physically able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, pull, climb, lift materials up to 50 lb. and work in a noisy environment with fast‑moving machinery
