Salary Range: $37.50 - $45.00 Hourly
DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is an active participant in the healthcare team, providing direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians. The RN collaborates with a multidisciplinary treatment team, contributing to individual treatment plans by developing, implementing, and documenting goals and interventions based on patient strengths and psychiatric issues. This description is not exhaustive of all duties; reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
The duties and responsibilities of the RN include:
- Maintaining and following nursing policies and procedures aligned with current standards and facility policies
- Completing health assessments, implementing treatment plans, and documenting outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) each shift
- Reviewing incident reports and recording patient incidents daily
- Assisting with patient admissions and discharges following facility procedures
- Following physician orders, monitoring withdrawal symptoms using CIWA, COWS, or CINA scales
- Assessing and reporting physiological and psychosocial changes in patients to the healthcare team
- Referring patients to appropriate health agencies and coordinating medical services
- Providing health education on topics such as general health, withdrawal management, medications, diabetes, safe sex, dual diagnosis, and nutrition
- Observing medication procedures and making recommendations when necessary
- Participating in staff meetings, training, and reviews
- Maintaining compliance with accreditation standards through trainings, CEUs, and performance reviews
- Utilizing de-escalation and crisis intervention skills as needed
- Delegating duties to non-licensed staff like BHTs or Resident Techs
- Learning and efficiently using software tools such as Ritten and Paycom
The RN must have at least an Associate's degree in nursing and:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of general nursing experience, including at least 1 year in psychiatric or substance abuse settings
- De-escalation/crisis intervention experience (preferred)
- Capabilities or willingness to learn IV insertion and blood draws
- Open-mindedness, flexibility, and ability to follow directions
- Valid driver's license or reliable transportation
- CPR/First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days
- High confidentiality standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
