Responsibilities

The Quality Engineering Supervisor will lead the MMC – Mechanical Manufacturing Center day-to-day operations of a Production Quality Assurance team. Key duties include:

  • Oversee inspectors in manufacturing and testing of deliverable products across Machine Shop, Composite, Mechanisms, Paint, Chemical Lab, and Test support activities.
  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for material processing into partially finished or finished products.
  • Coordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignment, and recognition or disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Monitor audits of quality systems for deficiency identification and corrective actions.
  • Support Corrective Action Boards and defect reduction teams.
  • Provide strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills while interacting with internal customers under Full Spectrum Leadership principles.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Ability to effectively assign and prioritize work tasks, manage resources, and make real-time processing decisions within a manufacturing environment to meet cost, schedule, and quality needs.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various technical procedures, reports, and engineering drawings.
  • Capability to work off shifts, overtime, and non-standard work weeks as needed to meet product deliveries.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet program requirements.

Desired

Skills:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry).
  • Familiarity with Windchill, SAP, and VECAMs.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Work Instructions.
  • Root Cause Analysis experience or training.
  • Mechanical/Composite/Machine Shop experience, including working knowledge of GD&T, handheld measuring tools, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Knowledge of Production Manufacturing and Quality processes in the aerospace environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Pay

Annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.

Schedule

Onsite full-time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work schedule includes a 9x80 (40 hours each of two weeks with every other Friday off) and supports a variety of alternate work schedules for additional flexibility.
