Description
Position Purpose
As a LONG Service VRF Technician, you will specialize in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing VRV and VRF Commercial HVAC systems. You will collaborate with our Service Supervisors and Service Technicians on advanced tasks according to LONG service procedures. While you will be part of an existing team of Service Technicians, you will primarily work independently. To ensure you are well-equipped for the job, a company vehicle, mobile phone, and PPE will be provided.
Your primary focus will be on performing advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on customers VRV/VRF HVAC equipment while providing excellent customer service and quickly resolving system issues.
Pay range
: $46 - $55 per hr. plus potential profit share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Specialize in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of VRV and VRF Commercial HVAC systems with an emphasis on identifying and correcting issues in the refrigeration cycle to maximize function and efficiency.
- Provide high level expertise and world class customer service to all players on VRF and VRF service calls and projects.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on difficult installation tasks on commercial VRV/VRF HVAC equipment using copper and steel piping, sheet metal ducting, equipment hanging, crane direction, electrical hookups, gas hook ups, hydronic hook ups, and equipment start-ups.
- Troubleshoot all types of VRV/VRF HVAC systems using power wiring, unit controls, motor, blower, fan, bearing, gas & electric heat, refrigeration systems, economizer, VAV box, fan powered box.
- Assist with the training, supervision, and guidance of less experienced technicians on VRV and VRF systems.
- Provide support and insight to Service Supervisors regarding difficult and complex problems with VRV and VRF systems.
- Change air filters, greasing bearings, record refrigeration pressures, and adjust gas-fired burners as needed.
- Regularly attend and complete any assigned training courses to stay on the cutting edge of VRV and VRF technology and industry trends.
- Promptly and accurately complete all required paperwork while on the job.
- Provide excellent customer service by checking in the customers upon arrival at job sites, checking out with customers when leaving jobsite, always representing the company in a professional manner.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, technicians, dispatch, sales, and management.
- Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others while performing HVAC tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 6 years working experience servicing commercial HVAC systems
- 3 years experience installing and servicing commercial VRV - VRF HVAC Systems
- Ability to work after-hours when needed.
- This position requires the ability to drive a company vehicle safely and legally.
- Exceptionally advanced understanding of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, or electrical systems with a comprehensive knowledge of VRV and VRF commercial HVAC systems.
- Valid CFC Refrigeration certificate
