Mitigation Technician or Mitigation Lead (Water, Fire and Storm Restoration)
When a pipe bursts, a fire is put out, or a storm tears through a building, someone has to show up, stop the damage, and get the structure dry. That is this job. Spyder Construction is hiring Mitigation Technicians and Mitigation Leads to respond to water, fire, mold, and storm losses across the Denver metro area. Whether you are ready to learn the trade or you are already running crews, there is a level here for you.
Payand Benefits
- Mitigation Technician: $22 to $26 per hour, depending on experience
- Mitigation Lead: $24 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and certifications
- Overtime pay at both levels. Emergency response work adds real dollars to your take-home
This is steady, full-time work with full benefits from an established restoration contractor. Spyder provides company-paid life insurance, health, dental, and vision insurance, and paid time off and sick leave. You also get a 401(k) with a 4% company match, optional accident and critical illness coverage, and access to an employee assistance program.
What a Mitigation Technician Owns- Respond to water, fire, mold, and storm damage at commercial, multifamily, and residential properties
- Extract water and set up, monitor, and maintain drying equipment, including dehumidifiers, air movers, extraction pumps, and air scrubbers
- Perform demolition, jobsite cleanup, mold remediation, and sewage mitigation
- Take moisture readings and document every job with photos, field notes, and time tracking so the paperwork is right the first time
- Wear proper PPE and follow safety protocols on every job, every time
- Keep tools and equipment clean, working, and ready for the next call
- Treat customers with calm and respect. Most of them are having one of the worst days of their year
Leads do everything above, plus run the site:
- Lead a crew of technicians and laborers on site. Assign tasks, set the plan for the day, and make sure the work gets finished on time and to our standard
- Train and develop newer technicians in the field
- Own job documentation for your crew, including photos, field notes, and time tracking
- Spot unforeseen conditions, scope changes, and quality concerns early and report them to the Mitigation Project Director
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies and PPE use across the site
- Keep the Mitigation Manager, Project Directors, and customers informed on progress and field conditions
For both levels:
- Reliability. When you are on call, you answer and you show up
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces like crawlspaces and attics, and handle physical work in all kinds of weather
- High school diploma or equivalent
- IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT, AMRT)
- 2+ years of construction, restoration, or related experience, including time supervising others
- IICRC certifications for Technician applicants (not required to start)
- Prior restoration or construction experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
This is not a nine-to-five job. Emergencies do not keep business hours, and the work is wet, dirty, and physical. If you need the same predictable schedule every week, or tight spaces and messy conditions are a deal breaker, this role will not be a good fit.
The Work Itself- Full-time, hourly, non-exempt, and overtime eligible
- On-call rotation that includes some nights and weekends. This is where much of the overtime comes from
- Start each shift at our Littleton shop and load into a fully stocked company van before heading to job sites. No wear, tear, or gas on your own vehicle
- Job sites can involve standing water, smoke and soot, mold, and…
