About the Role
The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs) is looking for world‑class talent in Software Engineering to be part of a team that carries on an 80‑year tradition of advanced aircraft development. The vehicle management software team writes software for a wide range of aircraft subsystems, supporting both current platforms and the aircraft of the future.

Responsibilities- Full software lifecycle development spanning many avionics services, ground station development, and mission system software technologies.
- Support ground station development for manned and unmanned systems.
- Develop simulations to support software development.
- Interface with key software and systems engineers to define requirements for rapid prototypes.
- Participate in integration and test events.
- Support planning and scheduling for key integration and milestone events.
- Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience.
- Experience with C and/or C++.
- Experience with Linux or RTOS (real time operating systems) and associated development tool chains.
- Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking).
- Must be a US Citizen. Position requires a Secret clearance updated within the last 5 years.
- Experience working with cross‑geographical teams.
- Experience integrating hardware and software.
- Experience in scripting languages (e.g., python).
- Experience with build environments and tools (make and CMake).
- Experience using agile software development tools and methodologies (e.g., Git, Gitlab, JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence).
- Experience with networking protocols (e.g., IP, UDP, RTP).
- Experience with hardware protocols (e.g., ARINC‑429, RS‑485, I2C, SPI).
- Experience working with safety/flight critical software development processes (e.g., MIL‑STD‑516C, MIL‑HDBK‑1797, AC‑17‑01, DO‑178).
- Experience with modeling and simulation (including familiarity with MATLAB).
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong decision‑making and judgment skills.
Security clearance:
Secret with investigation or CV date within 5 years. Must be a US Citizen.
