Description
The Autonomy/AI ML Software Engineer is responsible for developing, integrating, and deploying autonomy and artificial intelligence algorithms for the motion planning and control of autonomous vehicles. The role translates requirements into code, determines appropriate software methods for specific functions, and supports the technology development life cycle from requirements generation through development, integration, scenario development and modeling, testing, and debugging.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, integrate, and implement algorithms to enable mission planning and motion control of autonomous vehicles.
- Handle all phases of autonomy software development, from requirements generation, software design, and development to integration, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementation.
- Translate requirements and apply them to development code.
- Review test outcomes, conduct troubleshooting, and debug issues.
- Implement interfaces for integration with other components of the autonomy stack.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in both C++ and Python.
- Path planning experience.
- ROS2 experience.
- Understanding of global planners such as Hybrid A*.
- Understanding of local planners/controllers such as Model Predictive Control, reactive planners, or control systems in general.
- Experience developing software tools.

Pay RateThe annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC is $73,200 - $129,030. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Pay is based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market considerations.
