Basic Qualifications

• Strong Software Development, Software Engineering background, with a track record of successful project delivery
• Experience developing ground subsystems
• Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and teamwork across Agile Development Teams.
• Current TS Clearance prior to start and the ability to obtain SCI

Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented Level 3 Ground Software Engineer with a Final Top Secret security clearance to work from our King of Prussia, PA location
. You will be part of an Agile team that utilizes state‑of‑the‑art commercial standard methodologies such as Dev Sec Ops  (automated testing, continuous integration, automated deployment, etc.) and modern development tools. Your role will include progressing system capabilities from early design through site acceptance focused on software reuse, COTS/FOSS integrations, and innovative, affordable best practices.

• You will design, implement, test, and maintain object‑oriented ground system software applications using Java, C#, Rust, Angular, Python.
• You will support modernization efforts geared toward achieving greater efficiency, security, automation and scalability.
• You will collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, and test engineers using the Agile Development methodology.

Selected candidates will be required to possess Active Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (i.e. TS/SCI) prior to starting employment.

This is an EARLY-MID CAREER (level
3) ROLE where candidates typically require 3+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.

• Meaningful experience designing and implementing software solutions using Java, C#, Rust, Python, Apache Kafka, Apache Active
  
  MQ, ELK Stack/Open Search, Postgre
  
  SQL, Redis, Helm, Kubernetes.
• Cloud/containerization experience with a good understanding of distributed systems and designing for scalability.
• Experience developing microservices.
• Proficient in using Git for version control and collaboration.
• Working knowledge of Dev Sec Ops  Pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of Agile Methodologies as they relate to the Scaled Agile Framework.
• Experience with Agile, automated test, CI/CD, and regression testing.
• Strong problem‑solving skills applied to software engineering solutions.
• Experience with back‑end development and algorithms.
• Previous experience delivering highly reliable Communications / Ground subsystems.
