Job Description
As the Mission Strategy and Advanced Capabilities Director (MSAC) Senior Manager for Communications Systems, you will lead strategy development, technology advancement, and new business capture for a variety of communication missions. Working within Lockheed Martin Space, this position reports to the MSAC Director of Military and Strategic Communications and aligns with the National Security Space (NSS) Line of Business (LOB), collaborating across the Global Communications and Navigation (GCN) Mission Segment.
- Develop and implement mission‑based strategy, capture, products, solutions, technologies, and new business sales pipelines.
- Shape and win new business, including re‑compete and task order expansions, through a balanced focus on customer value, the competitive environment, and corporate interests.
- Collaborate on capture strategy development, including business solutions for pursuits, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and prices‑to‑win; manage bid and proposal activities.
- Partner with engineering leadership to create technology roadmaps and conduct Internal Research & Development (IR&D) and Customer Research & Development (CRAD) projects to develop discriminators that win new business.
- Lead cross‑functional teams and direct activities during pursues.
- Maintain ongoing interaction with customers and coordinate with Lockheed Martin stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience leading business growth, managing pipelines, directing resources, and capturing new business.
- Strong multi‑tasking ability with external engagement across suppliers, customers, and Lockheed Martin staff.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and team‑building skills.
- Experience with space or ground systems.
- Willingness to travel 25%–50% of the time.
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with communications systems, including space or ground applications.
- Strong customer relationships with recurring interaction focused on customer and mission needs; ability to establish new relationships to drive growth.
- Familiarity with the customer community across communication systems, understanding key priorities and constraints (budget, policy) that drive decisions.
- Assessment of new opportunities and markets, assisting in disposition based on Lockheed Martin Space strategy and probability of win.
- Oversight of budgets with emphasis on prioritization based on strategic alignment.
- Demonstrated cross‑organization collaboration with new business results in complex environments.
Onsite Full‑time:
The work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
