Why this Role Matters

Performs various duties to service members and other WCU business areas regarding loan servicing for consumer, mortgage, and commercial loans.

Note: The difference between a Loan Servicing Specialist I and II are largely determined by one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Years of loan servicing experience
  • Level of expertise performing essential job responsibilities
  • Level of independent judgement
  • Level of organizational restraint
What You’ll Contribute Loan Servicing Specialist I
  • Provides members, co-workers and attorneys/closing agents with daily payoff quotes for mortgages and Home Equities, process payoff transactions in accordance with established regulations
  • Monitors tickets and emails related to loan servicing on a daily basis and provides follow up as required
  • Performs intake and distribution of Loan Operations mail
  • Prepares, records, and completes mortgage discharges
  • Subservicing support within respective area of duties
  • Maintains confidentiality of all data
  • Demonstrates behaviors as defined by the Credit Union’s culture program
Loan Servicing Specialist II
  • Provides support of duties and responsibilities to Loan Servicing Specialist I
  • Posts home equity loans to the core processing system on a daily basis and disburses payoffs accordingly
  • Funds closing agents on a daily basis
  • Posts first mortgage residential and commercial loans
  • Monitors the receipt of closing documents and files original loan notes
  • Performs GL balancing on funding GLs
  • Performs all necessary transactions on the core processing system in relation to sold loans
  • Reviews subserviced investor reporting and resolves variances
Other Duties:
  • May be asked to provide coverage in other WCU branches or departments.
  • Adhere to all WCU policies and procedures which include security compliance and following guidelines intended to limit risk exposure to fraud and losses.
  • Participates in department and/or organizational projects as directed.
  • Performs other tasks or functions as required, requested, necessary or prudent.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all member and credit union information and data.
