The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer is responsible for overseeing environmental health and safety operations across 19 DCS / IST facilities
. This role supports the Director of Corporate Services and ensures the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of safety, health, and environmental policies to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace.

Essential Job Functions
  • Administer fire safety, health, and safety programs; routinely inspect, test, and maintain required safety records.
  • Maintain physical work spaces to ensure a safe, clean, and OSHA-compliant environment.
  • Receive, manage, and resolve safety and risk-related work orders in a timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison between DCS employees and external contractors for facility and safety-related issues.
  • Draft, implement, and enforce safety and risk management policies across all facilities.
  • Ensure safety standards are consistently followed throughout DCS/IST locations.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response initiatives.
  • Apply for or assist with obtaining required environmental permits, licenses, and approvals.
  • Inspect facilities for OSHA violations and coordinate corrective actions with the DCS Safety Officer.
  • Provide safety guidance and conduct employee training using the DCS Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Serve on Crisis Management, Safety Communications, and Facility Emergency Task Forces.
  • Monitor and manage corporate services-related supplies; coordinate vendor relationships and procurement.
  • Develop and conduct environmental health and safety training programs and maintain LMS course materials.
  • Assist the Director of Corporate Services with monthly safety topics and initiatives.
  • Prepare weekly Corporate Services reports by consolidating meeting notes and drafting summaries.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized digital filing system using SharePoint.
  • Standardize safety supplies and research new vendors and supplier agreements.
  • Maintain facility point-of-contact lists and communicate corporate services requirements.
  • Manage space allotment documentation in SharePoint and coordinate updates with DCS Finance.
  • Serve as the primary vendor contact supporting corporate service functions across all locations.
  • Respond to internal client requests related to corporate services operations.
  • Ensure readiness for submission of all required health and safety documentation.
  • Promote the use of safer work practices, materials, and equipment.
  • Track safety incidents, produce reports, and coordinate with DCS Human Resources.
  • Monitor employee exposure to hazardous chemicals and report as required.
  • Interface with OSHA and other regulatory bodies as necessary.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Build collaborative relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators and legislators.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to customer-related sensitivity.
  • Education & Experience (one of the following):
    • High School Diploma/GED + 20+ years of experience
    • Associate's Degree + 14 years of experience
    • Bachelor's Degree + 12 years of experience
    • Master's Degree + 10 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Experience coordinating safety and risk issues covered under lease agreements.
  • Ability to read and interpret building and facility plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Deltek.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with handling and shipping processes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain safety training and compliance programs.
  • Effective presentation and employee training skills.
  • Experience coordinating with building vendors and service providers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, interpersonal skills, and team collaboration.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout facilities.
  • Ability to bend, lift (up to 40 lbs), stretch, climb, and crawl as required.
  • Ability to climb and work on ladders to conduct safety inspections.
