Job Duties:

Shovels or pours abrasives such as metal shot of a specified grade into machine hopper.
Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive steel shot mixture flowing through nozzle.
Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive laden compressed air over surface of parts.
Directs nozzle over surface of large parts and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval.
Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
Perform light equipment maintenance.
May assist Assembly workers in the assembly of trailers, skids and ground containment units when not sandblasting.

Job Requirements:

High school or GED education; or up to 3 months related experience and on the job training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to comprehend instructions.
Certification in overhead crane operation and safety inspection and Hazmat.
Must pass respirator fit test and training.
Need to be able to lift 50+ lbs and have ability to stoop, crouch, bend, climb and kneel.
