Education​/Training Spec II

University of Florida is hiring an Education/Training Specialist II responsible for coordinating and delivering educational programs focused on agricultural conservation practices and Best Management Practices (BMPs) in the Suwannee Basin. The role involves conducting site visits, organizing workshops, collaborating with partners, and managing administrative duties related to educational outreach and on-farm demonstration trials.

• Coordinate, plan, and support educational programs emphasizing conservation and BMP adoption for agronomic, vegetable, and cow calf operations.
• Conduct site visits, assist producers with property-specific BMP selection, and identify cost-share opportunities.
• Plan and present at workshops, agricultural field days, and agency meetings to educate producers and agency staff.
• Collaborate with Extension agents to design regional educational programs and identify research/demo sites on local farms.
• Manage purchasing of supplies and materials following university policies.
• Required to hold a valid Florida driver's license and travel frequently to farms.
• Must have a bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
• Engage regularly with the public, agricultural producers, UF/IFAS faculty, staff, and local officials; involves public speaking.
• Preferred skills include strong agriculture industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, professionalism, organizational ability, and computer proficiency.
• Expected salary is $64,746 annually; position is time-limited.
