Associate Pastor of Administration and Local Ministries

Pastor Profile:

First Baptist Church of Live Oak is looking for an Associate Pastor of Administration and Local Ministries. This position would provide leadership in business/administrative affairs of the church, oversee financial operations, and develop/execute a comprehensive strategy for Local Ministries of First Baptist Church (alongside lay leaders). We are looking for someone with a pastors heart, strong leadership skills, and a desire to reach the lost.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is married, has ministry experience, a bachelor’s degree (at minimum), and a strong work ethic. Skills and attributes for an ideal candidate include:
Gospel-centered in theology, Kingdom minded, pastoral spirit, effective communicator, team player, problem-solver, has a gracious approach to conflict, organized, self-motivated, and productive.

First Baptist Church is in the heart of downtown Live Oak, FL. Since 1868, FBC Live Oak has sought to glorify God by raising up disciples of Jesus that make disciples of Jesus. Today, First Baptist Church of Live Oak is a growing church that currently averages 350 in Sunday morning worship, with 85% engaged in Sunday School. We are a multi-generational church, with our median age group being 40-50 years old and our Kids and Student ministries being the main avenues of growth.

Outside of our Kids and Student ministries, FBC provides and partners with local ministries to reach our community through:
Food Ministry, Clothing Ministry, Senior Adult Ministry, and Hispanic Ministry. Our church currently has 4 full time pastoral staff positions (Senior Pastor, Worship/Pastoral Care, Students/Education, and Kids/Missions) and two full time administrative assistants. We have a 1.5-million-dollar annual budget and are debt-free.

Live Oak, Florida is a great place for families that offers a slower pace of life without giving up access to larger cities. Located in Suwannee County in North Central Florida, Live Oak combines the character of a traditional rural community with a surprisingly strategic location. It is small enough to feel personal and connected, but close enough to several larger cities that residents can reach the amenities, healthcare, shopping, and entertainment of a metropolitan area without living in one.

Over the last 5 years, Suwannee County has grown by almost 10% and is projected to continue to grow in the years to come. Live Oak offers a small-town feel with affordable housing, outdoor recreation, community, and access to larger cities.
