Hydraulic Mechanic

Full Time Technical Live Oak, FL, US

The Hydraulic Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of hydraulic systems used across various industrial applications. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and control systems to prevent downtime and extend equipment life. The Hydraulic Mechanic will work closely with maintenance teams to implement preventative maintenance schedules and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.

Success in this role requires a deep understanding of hydraulic principles and mechanical components, combined with hands‑on skills to execute repairs and adjustments accurately. Ultimately, the Hydraulic Mechanic contributes to the safety, efficiency, and productivity of operations by maintaining high‑functioning hydraulic equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Hydraulic Mechanic or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in hydraulics or mechanical maintenance from a recognized institution.
  • Experience working with industrial or heavy machinery hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to hydraulic equipment.
  • Additional training in control systems and advanced mechanical components.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, and control units.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble hydraulic components, ensuring all parts meet operational standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational continuity.

The Hydraulic Mechanic utilizes basic mechanical aptitude daily to understand and work with complex hydraulic components and systems.
