How You Make An ImpactMaintain and analyze activities in the accounts receivable function. Apply strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and ensure timely workflow, and strong analytical skills to ensure integrity of data. Maintain accurate records and control reports, contact past‑due accounts to verify and negotiate outstanding balances. Perform daily cash application of receipts, invoicing, and customer statement processing. Prepare allowance for bad debt information and coordinate with business leaders on overall allowance.
Track progress on collections, operate in an environment shifting from manual to automated functions, and create credit memos as needed.
- Ongoing tracking of aged receivables in conjunction with team members and ensuring collection status is up to date for all delinquent receivables.
- Always support the cash application process.
- Prepare periodic reports of aging receivables for review and commentary by business leaders.
- Track aged receivables and calculate allowance for doubtful accounts.
- Interface with treasury team to track collections and offer suggestions for improvement in accounts receivable days outstanding.
- Offer refunds to customers and properly account for them.
- Work with the Customer Service team to investigate payments which are unidentified, lost, or not accepted at the point of payment.
- Be responsible for reconciling and reporting accounts on a monthly basis.
- Communicate with affiliate entities regarding intercompany balances.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts receivable.
- Other duties as assigned.
This is a temporary assignment expected to last 6–9 months with a possibility of extension.
What You Need To Be Successful- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience, with at least 1 year of accounts receivable experience.
- Background in accounts receivable, account reconciliation, month‑end close activities, and collections.
- Good interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to call out issues as they appear.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Experience with Oracle business software.
- Experience with accounting in a manufacturing environment.
Salary offers depend on experience, knowledge, skills, education, and location. Salary range is relevant to applicants who reside or work in the Livermore, CA area only.
