We are looking for a detail-oriented bookkeeper to support ongoing accounting operations for a long-term contract position based in Livermore, California. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing day-to-day financial activity, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating closely with leadership and external accounting support. The position begins with onsite training and may transition to a hybrid schedule, while certain duties such as check printing must remain on site.

This position is onsite 1-2 days per week, about 10 hours per week on average.

Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming funds by recording deposits accurately and allocating transactions to the appropriate accounts in Quick Books Online.
• Handle payment requests from start to finish, including preparing payables, securing required approval signatures, and distributing payments by mail.
• Process scholarship-related check payments with careful attention to documentation and accuracy.
• Maintain current and organized accounting records to support reliable accounts receivable and accounts payable activity.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and general ledger balancing to ensure financial data is complete and correct.
• Export accounting data from Quick Books Online into Excel for tracking, review, and reporting support.
• Partner with the off-site accountant by preparing information needed for financial statements and related reporting.
• Compile monthly fiscal reporting materials for organizational review and submission.
