Important Location RequirementONLY SUBMIT CANDIDATES CURRENTLY RESIDING WITHIN THE SERVICE TERRITORY AND WITHIN COMMUTING DISTANCE OF LIVERMORE, CA.
Travel RequirementThis is a hybrid assignment requiring travel throughout the service territory, including but not limited to:
- Livermore, CA
- Oakland, CA
- Auburn, CA
- Vacaville, CA
- Antioch, CA
- Other company facilities as required by business needs
- Company laptop will be provided.
- Any additional equipment must be supplied by the vendor.
- Meetings and calls will be conducted via Microsoft Teams or personal cell phone (no reimbursement).
- With prior manager approval, mileage and travel expenses outside the base office may be reimbursed per applicable guidelines.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer (SID) to support Hydro Operations training initiatives.
This individual will lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical training programs supporting Hydro Operations employees and technicians.
Key Responsibilities Training Analysis & Design- Conduct needs assessments and Front-End Analysis (FEA).
- Identify training gaps and recommend learning solutions.
- Develop curriculum maps and assessment strategies.
- Review off-the-shelf learning content for technician programs.
- Guide instructional design methodologies and learning technologies.
- Coach and mentor Instructional Designers.
- Ensure adherence to the ADDIE model.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews.
- Support team development and best practices.
- Develop project schedules and cost estimates.
- Manage project execution and delivery timelines.
- Facilitate:
- Project Kickoffs
- Beta Reviews
- Train-the-Trainer Sessions
- Pilot Programs
- Track project status and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Measure training effectiveness.
- Analyze performance metrics.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Archive training materials and complete project closeout activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of Instructional Design experience.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience.
- Strong background developing classroom-based technical or trades training.
- Experience designing multi-year technical training programs.
- Experience managing small to medium-sized projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Articulate Storyline
- Video Production Tools
- Web Design Tools
- Experience developing apprenticeship programs for skilled trades.
- Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.
- Experience supporting utility, trades, manufacturing, power generation, or other technical workforce environments.
- Familiarity with:
- Questionmark
- Author-It
- Microsoft Teams
- Virtual Learning Platforms
- AI-enabled productivity tools
