Instructional Designer, Training Curriculum Dev
Location:
Livermore, CA/Remote
Duration: 4+ Month Contract
Work Mode:
Remote
Pay: 70/hr, W 2
Summary:
- Open to local and non-local candidates.
- Client laptop will be provided. Please have a supplier or personal laptop available for Day-1 in case laptop is not available yet.
- Candidate will log in via Citrix. Any additional equipment is the responsibility of the supplier.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Substation and T-Line Engineering to conceptualize training design and content.
- Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content, and assessments.
- Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for the target audience, business process, and systems.
- Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments.
- Create instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions.
- Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.
- Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings.
- Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback.
- Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing instructor-led and eLearning courseware.
- Strong ILT design skills, openness to feedback, and ability to pivot quickly.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.
- Very strong task analysis knowledge and capability.
- Experienced with PowerPoint and Word.
- Flexibility to work on simultaneous development efforts, as needed.
- Comfortable and capable working on a high-performing team.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience developing training for the utility industry.
- Experience with technical writing.
- Experience with Question Mark and Author-it.
