A leading design-build contractor specializing in complex industrial and federal infrastructure projects is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor – HVAC to lead mechanical field operations across mission-critical facilities. This role is responsible for supervising HVAC installation activities on high-security and regulated sites, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of safety, quality, schedule, and technical compliance.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on HVAC experience combined with strong field leadership and familiarity working in federal or highly regulated construction environments.

Key Responsibilities Field & Construction Leadership
  • Lead and supervise HVAC installation crews, subcontractors, and mechanical trades.
  • Direct execution of mechanical scopes including:
  • Ductwork and air distribution systems
  • Air handling units and rooftop systems
  • Chillers, pumps, VFDs, VRF systems
  • Controls integration and commissioning support
  • Ensure work is executed per drawings, specifications, and approved schedules.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce a safety‑first culture across all jobsite activities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, site safety programs, and federal safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce PPE and hazard mitigation practices.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate daily with project management, engineering, quality, and commissioning teams.
  • Interface with owners, inspectors, and stakeholders as the primary mechanical field representative.
  • Manage cross‑trade coordination to prevent conflicts and maintain schedule alignment.
Quality & Documentation
  • Oversee quality control processes including inspections, testing, and punch list closure.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, and field documentation for accuracy.
  • Maintain daily logs, manpower tracking, and progress reports.
Schedule & Cost Control
  • Support manpower forecasting and resource planning.
  • Monitor field productivity and installation milestones.
  • Assist with field cost tracking and variance reporting.
Client & Stakeholder Support
  • Act as a trusted field leader during inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning.
  • Support change management, scope clarifications, and contract modifications.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all project stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of construction supervision experience with strong HVAC focus.
  • 5+ years working on federal, industrial, or high‑security projects.
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical systems and installation practices.
  • Strong understanding of codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, IMC, IPC).
  • Proven ability to lead field crews and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and reporting tools (MS Project, Primavera, Excel, etc.).
Preferred Experience
  • Federal or government project experience.
  • High‑security or mission‑critical facilities.
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification.
  • HVAC commissioning experience.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and energy efficiency standards.
