Sales Engineer – Physical Security & Technology Solutions

Role Description

This is a full‑time hybrid or remote role for a Sales Engineer at Alpha Integrated Solutions. The Sales Engineer will play a critical role in both business development and technical solution delivery by supporting the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and customer engagement to system design, demonstrations, engineering, proposal development, and project estimation.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills. This individual will work directly with clients, manufacturers, internal engineering teams, and project managers to design customized security and technology solutions that meet customer requirements and project objectives.

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for conducting live product demonstrations, performing site assessments, developing system designs and bill of materials, creating proposals and cost estimates, and supporting the successful close of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and maintain new customer relationships across commercial, municipal, education, healthcare, and enterprise markets.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site walks, needs assessments, and solution discovery sessions.
  • Design and engineer integrated security and technology solutions, including:
    • Video surveillance systems
    • Access control systems
    • AI analytics platforms
    • Mobile surveillance units
    • Network infrastructure
    • Emergency communication systems
    • Cloud and hybrid security solutions
  • Prepare system layouts, scopes of work, bill of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
  • Develop accurate project estimates, labor calculations, and pricing proposals.
  • Deliver in‑person and virtual product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors to evaluate technologies and ensure solution compatibility.
  • Assist with RFP/RFQ responses and technical proposal generation.
  • Maintain CRM activity, sales pipelines, and forecasting updates.
  • Support project handoff and coordination with operations and installation teams.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, security trends, and competitive solutions.
  • Attend trade shows, networking events, customer meetings, and industry conferences as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience in technical sales, systems engineering, or solution design within the physical security, low‑voltage, networking, or technology industries.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Video surveillance systems (Pelco, Avigilon, Axis, Hanwha, etc.)
    • Access control platforms
    • Networking fundamentals
    • Cloud‑based security systems
    • AI and analytics technologies
  • Experience creating proposals, estimates, and scopes of work.
  • Ability to conduct technical demonstrations and customer presentations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and estimating/design tools.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visio, or similar design platforms is a plus.
  • Understanding of public sector or law enforcement technology environments is highly desirable.
