Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Overview

Responsibilities- Support all Project Engineering tasks.
- Provide support to Systems Engineers and System Designers in performing Hardware and Software engineering activities.
- Create, monitor, and edit engineering spreadsheets.
- Review project documentation and assist engineers in deciphering data.
- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve engineering inefficiencies and resolve related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
- Prepare & maintain engineering spreadsheets relating to hardware and software deliverables.
- Support Hardware & Software Engineers in the creation of hardware and software submittals.
- Keep management, JCI contractors, or customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
- Maintain a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure engineering is running efficiently.
- Document and support recommendations and solutions.
- Vocational School four‑year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field plus three years of industry experience, or one year of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other contacts ethically and professionally.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
- PC experience required and ability to program HVAC‑related software.
- Hourly rate: $22.79 – $34.24 (determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, internal equity, and market data).
