The impact you’ll makeAt Lam, as a Manager of Supply Chain Business Managers (SBMs), you play a crucial role in partnering with suppliers to drive operational excellence and interfacing with internal customers to deliver to Lam’s goals. Your data-driven approach ensures effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through our dynamic global production cycle. You’ll benchmark and monitor supplier performance to manage risk. By driving continuous supplier process improvements, you support the productivity and efficiency of Lam's operations.
As a SBM Manager, you will lead a team of SBMs to drive delivery and supplier operational excellence within a global supply chain. This role is within the Supply Chain Operations team and is instrumental in helping Supply Chain navigate through record ramps and other operational complexities thrown our way. In this position, you will have the responsibility of managing for multiple suppliers within the Controllers and Computers OEM commodity to fulfil LAM global factories delivery needs.
Whatyou’ll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the SBM function.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases.
- Define metrics and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement.
- Regularly evaluate quality and performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection.
- Continuously work on process improvement to deploy & develop best known methods related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., Consignments, Kanban, min/max) & manufacturing strategies.
- Establish goals with supplier to ensure material delivery meets forecasted demand.
- Represent supplier business management on a cross-functional commodity team that focuses on supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
- Work with engineering and suppliers to resolve complex problems to ensure on-time delivery of critical material to support customer and company requirements.
- Develop presentations, white papers, and process flow charts to support continuous process improvement projects.
- Work with Strategic Commodity Managers (SCMs) and suppliers to monitor product cost, prevent negative PPV and support cost reduction efforts.
- May work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies.
- Drive the improvement of the suppliers’ manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5-8 years of supervisory experience.
- 10 years’ experience in managing global factories and various commodities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with scalable and repeatable results.
- Knowledge, experience and practical use of Microsoft Excel, SAP or other ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills - Macros, Pivot Tables, Data Lookup/Indexing, Dashboards.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% (including domestic and international), or as required.
- Public speaking/ Executive level presentation skills.
- Experience in managing $500M+ of supplier spend.
