Job Title

Leader in Lam's Global Supplier Management organization

The Group You'll Be A Part Of

The Global Operations Group brings information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and high-volume manufacturing together to drive the engine of our global business operations. We help Lam deliver industry-leading solutions with speed and efficiency, while actively supporting the resilient and profitable growth of Lam's business.

The Impact You'll Make

As a leader in Lam's Global Supplier Management organization, this critical position requires a passionate, driven leader who will architect and deliver strategic directions to the organization's supply chain, ensuring the company is positioned to be a winner in a complex, fast paced, highly competitive industry.

In this position, you will play a vital role in managing suppliers and a team of Strategic Commodity Managers in the Bulk & Advanced Ceramics commodity, which involves chamber critical components that are at the center of our equipment where customers' wafers are processed. You will set a 3-year commodity strategy, ensure supply continuity, quality, and cost competitiveness, and develop a high-performing team while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Product Groups.

This position resides within the Global Operations Supply Chain organization and reports to the Director of Technology Commodities. Location is in Fremont, CA but we will also consider qualified candidates in Livermore, CA or Tualatin, OR. Domestic and international travel will be required.

What You'll Do
  • Define and execute a 3-year commodity vision and roadmap that enhances competitive differentiation and addresses availability, quality, lead time, and total cost.
  • Lead supplier strategy (selection, consolidation/expansion), segmentation, capacity reservation models, and continuity/risk mitigation plans.
  • Own commercial negotiations (pricing, contracts, and agreements) and deliver annual cost and performance objectives.
  • Drive operational execution: inventory and material planning, supplier capacity readiness, delivery performance, and issue resolution.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance on sourcing decisions, cost savings, and cash/inventory performance.
  • Manage supplier relationships to deliver negotiated value and develop capabilities to meet future business needs.
  • Monitor market intelligence to identify emerging suppliers/technologies and evaluate supplier maturity, capability, and financial stability.
  • Benchmark, develop, implement, and improve supply chain processes and infrastructure to support quality, scalability, and supply continuity.
  • Navigate Lam and supplier constraints, such as source locking and supplier transitions.
  • Execute the vision and implement the strategy by gaining executive alignment and motivating and engaging the workforce to fulfill the vision.
  • Build, coach, and develop a geographically distributed team; promote a culture of quality, discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Make decisions under pressure, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Successfully operate across boundaries and prioritize the activities of the organization to achieve best in class results.
  • Develop and present meaningful and impactful messages to a wide array of audiences:
Global Supply Chain, Suppliers and Customers.
Who We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related).
  • 10 years of working experience leading strategic sourcing/commodity management with global suppliers; semiconductor equipment experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing, multi-site teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong commercial negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills; effective executive-level communication.
  • Demonstrated capability in supplier development, performance management, and proactive risk identification/mitigation.
  • Comfortable working across cultures (North America, Europe, Asia) and influencing technically strong stakeholders.
