US Foods is seeking a VP Operations in Training to learn and lead all aspects of distribution center operations in our fast-paced wholesale food service environment. This role partners with senior leaders to ensure safe, efficient warehouse and transportation performance, delivering exceptional service to restaurant, healthcare, and hospitality customers. You will oversee KPIs, labor planning, inventory integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives, while developing teams, reinforcing a safety and performance-driven culture, and preparing to assume full VP Operations responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Support and learn to lead all distribution center operations, including warehouse and transportation
- Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Manage KPIs for service, productivity, cost, and quality to meet performance targets
- Oversee labor planning, staffing, and scheduling across shifts to meet operational demand
- Ensure inventory accuracy, product integrity, and effective slotting and flow of goods
- Partner with cross-functional leaders in sales, supply chain, and finance to align priorities
- Lead and support continuous improvement, Lean, and cost-saving initiatives
- Develop, coach, and mentor frontline leaders and teams to build bench strength
- Assist with budget development, P&L performance, and capital/maintenance planning
- Prepare to assume full VP Operations accountability through structured development and stretch assignments
