Compensation: $125k - $160k/yr + Comprehensive Benefits
Are you a highly skilled CNC Programmer looking for an opportunity to work on challenging, precision-engineered components in a state-of-the-art facility instead of repetitive production work?
An industry-leading precision manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Prototype Engineer to support complex aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and advanced technology programs. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in developing machining strategies, programming sophisticated multi-axis equipment, and driving manufacturing excellence in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for highly complex precision components.
- Program 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers, as well as CNC turning platforms (Mill/lathe)
- Create setup sheets, tooling plans, work instructions, and fixture concepts.
- Improve machining efficiency through cycle-time reduction, tool-life optimization, and process improvements.
- Validate and prove out programs at the machine to ensure production readiness and process capability.
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to solve technical manufacturing challenges.
- Analyze feeds, speeds, tooling, work holding, coolant strategies, and cutting conditions.
- Support prototype and production manufacturing projects requiring tight tolerances and exceptional quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, repeatability, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 7+ years of CNC programming experience with demonstrated expertise in MasterCAM and CAD-driven programming for prototype work
- Strong Mastercam programming experience.
- Expertise programming 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC equipment.
- Strong GD&T and blueprint interpretation skills.
- Deep understanding of machining theory, tooling, fixturing, work holding, and material machinability.
- Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity working within AS9100 quality systems.
Preferred but not required:
- Aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience. Hyper Mill experience.
- Vericut simulation and program verification experience.
- Experience with prototype and complex close-tolerance machining.
