Job Overview
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on the development and applications of scanning electron microscopy techniques for functional characterization of electronic materials and devices.
Responsibilities- Conduct experiments using state‑of‑the‑art characterization instrumentation.
- Analyze data using established and custom modeling tools.
- Introduce new capabilities by integrating custom hardware.
- Present research progress at group meetings, peer review events, and technical conferences.
- Write and publish manuscripts in scientific journals.
- PhD degree in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Hands‑on experience with electron sources and their application to semiconductor characterization.
- Record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences, with a minimum of three (3) first‑author or co‑authored scientific publications.
- Highest degree received not more than five years prior to the date of application and all degree requirements completed before starting the appointment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance.
- Experience with operando electronic device characterization.
- Experience with data acquisition hardware and software.
- Experience with finite element modeling.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must work onsite.
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q‑level security clearance (U.S. citizenship required). The position requires a pre‑employment drug test and background review, and a background investigation for access to classified information.
