Responsibilities- Provide complex and dynamic professional security support and oversight of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and related FIE programs.
- Interpret and apply knowledge of related policies, procedures, methods, and practices to resolve day-to-day security related issues/questions.
- Assist in the analysis, development, and implementation of systems and procedures for the SCIFs that assure appropriate controls, including physical, personnel, and information security; ensure work is conducted in compliance with LLNL, DOE, DoD, and IC directives, orders, and requirements.
- Provide day-to-day support to the FIE Information Security Section by assisting with routine security operations, responding to internal requests, maintaining documentation, and coordinating security-related activities.
- Promote security education and awareness in accordance with Intelligence Community Directives and SCIC policy.
- Conduct and participate in self-assessments and audits; assist in evaluating and developing recommendations for improvement and problem solving; collect and organize data for reporting.
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate classified video teleconferences for internal DOE customers and external DOE, DOD, and IC agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide dynamic professional security support and oversight of SCIFs and related Field Intelligence Element (FIE) Operations.
- Serve as an in-depth knowledge leader and general resource to employees by assessing, analyzing, applying, and implementing security related policies, procedures, methods, operational requirements, practices, and deliverables in compliance with LLNL, DOE Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, DoD, and ICDs, orders and requirements to facilitate work onsite.
- Active U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance at time of hire with the ability to obtain SCI access which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor s degree in Security Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or training in a security discipline(s) and related security experience performing work independently.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of DOE orders and regulations related to SCI facilities, and IC requirements for the protection of IC sources, methods, and systems.
- Experience interpreting and applying knowledge of policies, procedures, methods, and practices to resolve day-to-day security related issues/questions.
- Proven organizational skills to determine priorities and work assignments, effectively handle projects, and oversee activities at multiple locations.
- Experience working independently and cross functionally with other groups on multi-faceted processes.
- Experience using secure telecommunications systems.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present, and coordinate with all levels of management and personnel across the Laboratory, NNSA, within the DOE, IC, and other government agencies.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills and experience delivering presentations and preparing written reports.
- In-depth knowledge and experience reviewing, evaluating, and collaborating with the development of implementation plans for DOE and/or ICD information security orders, manuals and other directives relating to information security.
- In-depth experience developing and writing clear and concise assessments, corrective action plans, policies, procedures, investigative narratives, formal reports and other correspondence.
- Fundamental knowledge of DOE Orders governing a variety of safeguards and security disciplines and LLNL security policies and procedures.
- Fundamental knowledge of and experience applying LLNL, DOE, and IC practices/policies and security requirements in a classified environment.
$95,820 - $140,712 Annually
$95,820 - $117,312 Annually for the J14.2 level
$114,900 - $140,712 Annually for the J14.3 level
