POSITION DESCRIPTIONPlant Mechanic incumbents independently perform skilled mechanical maintenance and repair work on a wide range of equipment and systems, including pumps, motors, valves, compressors, piping, and other machinery used in water treatment and distribution facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ExperienceThe equivalent of two years of full-time experience in skilled mechanical maintenance repair work in a water or wastewater treatment or industrial setting. Completion of an apprenticeship in a related field, such as machinist, electrician or electronics technician, may be substituted for not more than one year of the required experience.
